FLUX for stills and video
Flux 2 renders and edits still images, while FLUX 3 makes video with sound from a prompt, up to 10 frames, or your clip.

- 16:9

Flux 2
Stills from text, or edits of up to 8 images.
The still model of the line. From text it renders a new image; attach 1 to 8 images and it edits them or combines them into one frame.
Best for
- Merging up to 8 images into one
- Stills in 3:2 or 2:3 at 2K
- Opening or closing frames for FLUX 3
Pick another model for
- Print sizes above 2K

Prompt: A single ripe lemon resting on a dark slate countertop, one soft window light from the left. The camera pushes in slowly and steadily. A thin curl of steam drifts up from a cup just out of frame. Calm, still, photographic.

FLUX 3
Video with sound, from a prompt, frames or a clip.
Attach one mp4 of up to 15 seconds and FLUX 3 continues it from its final frames, holding the scene, light and motion. The new clip is a valid input too, so a sequence grows one run at a time.

How the family fits together
Two models with different jobs. Flux 2 is an image model with a text path and an edit path; FLUX 3 is a video model. They meet in one workflow: FLUX 3 takes stills as exact frames, so a Flux 2 render can open or close a FLUX 3 clip.
Working with FLUX
- For storyboards of three or more images, set the length explicitly; frames spread evenly across it.
- Trim long recordings to the tail you want continued before uploading; FLUX 3 reads the end.
- Settle a FLUX 3 prompt on the 720p draft tier, then rerun at 720p or 1080p.

Frequently asked questions
No. Flux 2 is the still image model and FLUX 3 is the video model; pick by the deliverable, not the number.
As exact frames, not style references. One image opens the clip, two set the first and last frame, and three to ten form a storyboard spaced evenly across the length.
No. A request carries frames or one clip to continue, never both. A mixed request is rejected before anything is charged.
Yes. Ambient sound, effects and speech are generated in the same pass as the picture. It is on by default; switching it off only drops the track.
No. Flux 2 output is always opaque, even when the prompt asks for a transparent background. For cutouts, use a GPT Image model, which returns a real alpha channel.
