Wan: video from prompts, stills, documents

Three Wan releases, each taking more input, from a single still up to whole documents and 30 second takes.

    Wan 2.5
    Wan 2.7
    Wan 3.0

Prompt: Macro shot of a dew drop rolling off the tip of a fern leaf in a misty forest at sunrise, shallow depth of field, soft backlight, slow rack focus from the leaf to the falling drop, quiet birdsong and dripping water

    • 720p
    • 16:9

    Wan 2.5

Fixed 5 or 10 second clips with a negative prompt.

The Wan with the fewest decisions: pick a mode, length and resolution, and write one clear shot. The 800 character prompt rewards a subject, an action and a camera move; list what to keep out in the negative prompt.

    Best for

    • Single shots at 5 or 10 seconds
    • 1080p from a short, focused prompt
    • Animating one product or scene still

    • Prompts over 800 characters: use Wan 2.7 or 3.0
    • Ending a shot on a specific last frame

    Wan 2.7

Length to the second, a closing frame, your own soundtrack.

In image-to-video, add a second still as the last frame and Wan 2.7 fills in the motion between the two: a controlled reveal, a before and after, or an object that stops at exactly the angle you want.

    Best for

    • Reveals and before and after shots
    • Clips cut to an exact length
    • Text-to-video set to your own soundtrack

    How the family fits together

Every Wan model makes video with sound, from text or an image. Each release adds control: Wan 2.5 keeps two fixed lengths, Wan 2.7 sets length to the second and ends on a frame you choose, and Wan 3.0 reads documents, links, clips and audio.

    Working with Wan

    • On Wan 2.7, generate the first and last frames from the same camera angle for cleaner motion.
    • On Wan 3.0, name references in attach order: first image Image1, first clip Video1, first audio Audio1.
    • On Wan 3.0, reference clips and output share one 30 second limit, so long references shorten the result.

    Frequently asked questions

    • Wan 3.0. Attach one deck or document (pptx, ppt, pdf, docx, key and more), add a line about the audience and tone, and set a length of up to 30 seconds.

    • Prime is the higher-fidelity tier. Inputs, lengths, resolutions and aspect ratios are identical, so you can draft on Standard and render the final on Prime without changing anything else.

    • Yes, one public page that needs no login. A link and a document cannot share a request; reference images, clips and audio can go alongside either.

    • Wan 2.5 and Wan 2.7 take one, up to 500 characters on Wan 2.7. Wan 3.0 does not, so describe what you want in the main prompt.

    • All three render 9:16. Wan 2.5 for a quick 5 or 10 second shot, Wan 2.7 when exact length or the closing frame matters, Wan 3.0 for existing material or past 15 seconds.
