Make Seedance 2.5 videos for less with Draft mode

Try your idea as 480p drafts, which cost the same as any 480p render. When one draft is the shot you want, open its three dot menu and render that same video again in 1080p. You pay the 1080p rate once, for the take you keep, not on every try.

    What you will make

A Seedance 2.5 clip in 1080p, found through cheap 480p drafts instead of full price retries.

    You need

    • 1.An idea for the shot and a first prompt
    • 2.Any pictures, clips or sounds you want as references
    • 3.Credits for a few drafts and one final
    1. 1. Know when a draft saves credits

A draft is a 480p preview that costs the same as a normal 480p render. The 1080p final costs the normal 1080p rate. So drafts pay off as soon as you need more than one try, and with video you usually do.

Tip: Sure the first try will be right? Skip the draft and render straight in 1080p. A draft plus its final costs more than one 1080p render.

    2. 2. Turn on Draft mode

Draft mode sits with the other Seedance 2.5 settings in the Media Studio. Turning it on sets the resolution to 480p and locks 720p and 1080p until you turn it off again.

      1. 1In the Media Studio, open the Model card, Video tab, and pick Seedance 2.5.
      2. 2Set up the shot as usual: the tab, your references, the prompt, the length and the ratio.
      3. 3Turn on Draft mode in the settings row, then press Generate.

Tip: Pick the length and the ratio now. The final keeps the draft's and cannot change them.

    3. 3. Get the shot right on drafts

Judge a draft on what 480p shows well: the motion, the framing, the timing and the sound. Fine detail like fur, hair and small text is what the final adds.

      1. 1Watch the draft with the sound on.
      2. 2If something is off, change one thing in the prompt and make another draft.
      3. 3Stop when a draft is the shot you want.

Tip: You do not have to finish the last draft. Any finished draft can become the final, so keep the ones you like.

    4. 4. Render the final from the three dot menu

The final is made from the draft itself, so you get the same video back in 1080p, not a new roll of the dice.

      1. 1In the Media Studio, hover over the finished draft, or tap it on a phone, and press the three dots in its corner.
      2. 2Pick Render final 1080p.
      3. 3Check the price on the button, then press Render 1080p.

Tip: Render the final within a week. Just before the seventh day the option leaves the draft's menu, and you need a new draft.

      Render final in 1080p

Renders this draft again in 1080p with the same prompt, references, seed and length. The draft stays in your gallery.

    5. 5. Compare the two and keep the final

The final keeps the draft's prompt, references, seed, length and ratio and renders it again at 1080p with finer detail. The draft stays in your gallery next to it.

      1. 1Play the final with the sound on.
      2. 2Look closely at fur, hair or text. That is where 1080p shows.
      3. 3Download the final.

Tip: Small things like the exact framing can shift a little between the draft and the final. The shot, the motion and the timing stay the same.

    Avoid these

    • Rendering every try in 1080p while you are still changing the prompt.
    • Drafting a shot you already know is right. One 1080p render costs less than a draft plus a final.
    • Turning Draft mode off to get 1080p. Leave it on and get 1080p from the final.
    • Waiting more than a week to render the final.
    • Expecting the final to take a new prompt or a new length. It keeps the draft's.
    • Worrying about pressing Render 1080p twice. A second confirm brings back the final already on its way and does not charge again.

    Seedance 2.5 Draft mode

Use Draft mode. Try the shot as 480p drafts, which cost the same as a normal 480p render, then render only the draft you keep in 1080p from its three dot menu. You pay the 1080p rate once instead of on every try.

A 480p preview of your video that you can later render again in 1080p. The 1080p final keeps the draft's prompt, references, seed, length and ratio, so it is the same shot in higher quality.

Yes, it is the same shot. It is made from the draft itself, with the same prompt, references, seed and length, and adds finer detail. Small things like the exact framing can shift a little.

The normal Seedance 2.5 1080p rate for the draft's length, the same as rendering it in 1080p directly. The price shows on the Render 1080p button before you confirm.

No. A draft plus its final costs more than one 1080p render. It saves credits when you need more than one try, because every extra try is billed at the 480p price. The chart in step 1 shows it at today's prices.

In the three dot menu of the finished draft in the Media Studio. Hover over the draft, or tap it on a phone, press the three dots in its corner and pick Render final 1080p.

Just under 7 days. After that, Render final 1080p leaves the draft's menu and you need to make a new draft.

No. The final keeps the draft's prompt, references, length and ratio. To change anything, make a new draft.
